About Us

Doggie Central’s, Chief Cuddler, Faith Mantooth, a certified dog trainer for 14 years, opened the Teale Street business when more and more of her training clients needed overnight care.  She saw a need from pet owners with their busy lives and decided to bring her talents to the public. With her love for canines, as certified trainer, and dog owner, Faith decided to open a 24 hour 7/days a week, board and care facility.  That was 10 years ago, and “Doggie Central” was born.

Doggie Central offers 24 hour supervised care from a well-trained staff, in a 8500 square foot facility conveniently located in Culver City. Providing a unique indoor and outdoor park-like setting, we offer care by the day or by the night, week, month, or as long as needed. We also provide optional services, such as training and grooming that can be scheduled while your dog is staying with us.  Someone is always on-site, and the facility is well protected, with its cinder block structure, full sprinkler system and security cameras.  When you first bring your dog in, and before your canine is accepted for daycare or boarding, your doggie is interviewed for temperament.  Along with this, vaccinations are required, as is spaying or neutering for those over a year old.

About Doggie Centrals Owner, Faith Mantooth, “The Dog Lady”
Faith is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT), and knowledgeable in the care and training of a wide variety of animals.  She is a certified zookeeper who began her career after traveling through Africa on safari. When Faith got back from Africa, she decided to get in touch with Guiding Eyes, a nonprofit and internationally accredited guide dog organization. Faith worked for the Los Angeles Zoo for two years studying animal behavior and then as a veterinary assistant for five years.

Ms. Mantooth’s love of working with animals led her to study with some of the top well-known leaders in the field of training, such as, Ian Dunbar, Karen Pryor, Terry Ryan, and Jean Donaldson.

She continues to expand and update her knowledge with attending seminars and conferences all over the United States.

Faith lives in Westchester with her daughter Madisen; her dogs Latte, Winter, Ellie Mae; and Kenya, Cracker, Rainbow and Mouser the Cat now residing at Rainbow Bridge. She shows her Labrador Retrievers competitively in conformation, obedience, and field trials, and has earned numerous titles.
