Mantooth is a Certified
Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT). she has been teaching obedience training
and behavior modification, from beginning to advanced levels,
for over a decade. Her unique ability to understand and connect
with her canine pupils led to her nickname, "The Dog Lady."
Knowledgeable in the care and training of a wide variety of
animals, Mantooth is a certified zookeeper who began her career
after traveling through Africa on safari. She worked for the
Los Angeles Zoo for two years studying animal behavior and
then as a veterinary assistant for five years.
Mantooth's love of working with animals led her to study
with some of the top trainers in the country, attending seminars
and conferences all over the United States. She has studies
with well-known leaders in the field, including Ian Dunbar,
Karen Pryor, Terry Ryan, and Jean Donaldson.
Mantooth lives in Westchester with her daughter Madisen; her
four dogs Sadie, Luxury,
Soda Cracker, and Crispy Creme; Mouser
the cat; and Kenya (now residing at Rainbow Bridge). She shows
her Labrador Retrievers competitively in conformation, obedience,
and field trials, and has earned numerous titles.
Mantooth and Doggie Central also participate in various fund-raising
activities to help animal rescue organizations in the Los Angeles
area. |
