Natural Training Method Yields Remarkable Results

Working With Your Dog's Basic Desire to Please You.

Doggie Central owner Faith Mantooth's teaching methods are totally "natural," working with your dog's existing responses to stimulation, whatever they already are. All these responses were learned. So her techniques are aimed at reversing unadaptive learning and providing new learning experiences that are fully adaptive to your lifestyle.

Faith's preparatory steps in this process are, first, to establish a good and positive working relationship between you and your dog, that is founded on trust and love and a commitment to certain behavioral goals for your dog. Once rapport is re-established on this new level, Faith provides you with the understanding you'll need about the nature of a dog's thinking and reflexes, the forces that are instrumental in producing the exact set of behaviors you want, and how to communicate precisely what you want so that your dog can fulfill its natural desire to please you by its behavior.

Her procedures include (1). reducing your dog's anxieties (and perhaps yours as well) through techniques of relaxation between the two of you, getting back "in touch", then (2) teaching both you and your dog a practical form of operant conditioning, in which only those behaviors you desire from your dog are essentially reinforced, consequently, made stronger. Similarly, your dog's unadaptive (bad) behaviors are "unlearned" with the help of these same principles.

Faith Mantooth's NATURAL METHOD works, because its basis is the development of the full potential of every dog to love and please its owner. Her procedures emerged out of her own devotion to dogs and her observations that they are always capable of growth and complete sociability in their owners world but they may on occasion need to be reminded how to adapt. It was this total acceptance of the inherent nature of dogs to want to fit in and please their owners which provided Faith's orientation for training. In effect, as another famous trainer. Barbara Wodehouse, once said, "there are no bad dogs", only bad (unadaptive) behaviors So Faith Mantooth's focus is always on the specific behavioral modification, never a judgment about the dog.

This is what she teaches you, easily and quickly. In her classes you'll never have to tug or reprimand or punish your dog. The bonding between you will become deeper. Your dog's confidence and spirit will increase, as you begin learning how a dog thinks as Faith shows you how to communicate to your dog exactly what pleases you and what does not. You will enjoy knowing how to enable your dog to fulfill its primary goal in life, to make you happy. And with Faith's teaching methods, happy owners come away with happy dogs.
